The Opportunity

Responsibilities
Matrix Management: Lead and inspire professional multidisciplinary work teams within a matrix organization. End-to-End Project Leadership: Manage the full lifecycle of development projects, ensuring compliance with timelines, budgets, and quality specifications. Technical Decision Making: Serve as the systems engineer for the product, including defining requirements, approving specifications, and resolving technical and managerial challenges. Strategic Collaboration: Define product specifications and project scope in coordination with Program Managers, Product Managers, customers, and R&D expert groups. Customer Interface: Maintain ongoing technical communication and relationship management with the customer throughout the project. Planning & Risk Management: Formulate detailed work plans (Gantt charts) and lead proactive risk management strategies. Financial Management: Oversee the ongoing financial health of the project and provide regular reports to executive management.
Requirements
Education: M.Sc./Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or Physics – Mandatory. Scientific Preference: Significant preference for candidates with a Ph.D. in Physics. Semiconductor Experience: At least 5 years of experience in semiconductor process development for multidisciplinary products – Mandatory. Laser Expertise: At least 5 years of direct experience in laser development – Mandatory. Leadership Experience: 4+ years of experience as a Project Manager or Systems Engineer – Mandatory. Project Tools: Proven experience in budget management, timelines, Gantt charts, and cross-functional interface management – Mandatory. Industry Background: Experience working with the Ministry of Defense (IMOD/MAFAT) or major defense industries – Mandatory. Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills and experience managing engineers in a matrix environment. Business Acumen: Strong business perspective and strategic thinking – Mandatory.
