Responsibilities

Conduct electro optics experiments in the Haifa lab

Design experiments per requirements including purchasing necessary hardware

Perform experiments and analyze results

Write test reports and conclusions

Understand the operation of all test equipment in the lab and related measuring procedures

Design and implement unified software for instrument control

Maintain communality with the optical lab in the US

Research and understand testing methods

Assist in debugging and maintaining the Silicon Photonics tester in Haifa

Requirements and Criteria

Student in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optics, Computer Science, or a related field (3rd year or higher)

Skills in Python, Matlab, and Excel

Broad technical curiosity

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

Demonstrated ability to tackle complex technical challenges and develop innovative solutions

Ability and eagerness to learn and self-learn

Good writing and verbal skills in English

Willingness to work unconventional hours and attend meetings in US time zones


Additional Requirements

Commitment of at least 15 hours a week

Onsite presence in the Haifa lab (up to 10% remote work may be possible)
