Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Optical Engineer to join our laser HW team. You will be working in the optical laboratory, building and aligning the current and next-generation optical solvers. You will also have the opportunity to test novel designs and concepts that challenge the current understanding of the systems' most basic properties. This role requires exceptional technical proficiency and a demonstrated record of success working with sensitive optical and related complex systems.

Responsibilities:

• Construct complex free-space optical systems based on detailed protocols

• Perform precise laser alignment to ensure optimal system performance

• Conduct detailed measurements to validate system designs and performance

• Collaborate with optical and mechanical designers

• Participate in design reviews and provide input from the assembly and alignment perspective

Qualifications:

• B.Sc./M.Sc. in Physics, EE, Optical Engineering, or a related field

• At least 5 years hands-on experience of free-space optical hardware development, alignment and testing, in a product-oriented environment

• Proficiency in optical measurements

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Skills:

• Working knowledge of free-space laser/optical cavity assembly

• Working with electronic test equipment

• Proficiency in imaging systems and Fourier optics

• Experience in Python

• Ability to analyze and present experimental data
