A leading company that develops and manufactures night vision detectors, located in Misgav (near Karmiel), is recruiting a Physics Team Leader.
Job Description
The Uncooled Detectors Physics Team Leader will serve as the organizational focal point of knowledge in the field, leading a team of physicists engaged in the development, characterization, and optimization of uncooled detectors.
The role combines professional and personal management of the team alongside significant technical involvement (Hands-on) and close collaboration with project managers, various R&D teams, engineering, and business units.
Key Responsibilities
- Focal Point of Knowledge: Serve as the professional authority in the physics of uncooled detectors.
- Team Leadership: Manage and lead a team of physicists: task allocation, professional mentoring, and developing/retaining knowledge and capabilities within the team.
- Product Development: Lead detector development in accordance with system requirements and customer applications.
- Specification Optimization: Define, finalize, and optimize electrical and electro-optical specifications for detectors and products.
- Methodology: Develop and implement characterization, measurement, and simulation methodologies.
- Advanced Characterization: Perform advanced electrical and electro-optical characterization throughout the product lifecycle.
- Production Transition: Support Qualification (QUAL) processes and transfer to production, including the development of production testing.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Maintain ongoing work and professional interfaces with Engineering, Production, Quality Assurance, Marketing, and Business Units.
- Sales Support: Support development sales and participate in technical meetings with customers.
- Knowledge Management: Responsible for documenting, managing, and preserving professional knowledge in the field.
- Execution: Meet development goals, schedules, and budget constraints for the team's tasks.
Job Requirements
Education
- M.Sc. / Ph.D. in Physics / Electro-optics / Electrical or Electronics Engineering – Must!
Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in the development of detectors or electro-optical systems – Must.
- Deep experience in the physics of uncooled / bolometric detectors – Significant advantage.
- Experience in team management or leading a professional domain – Must.
- Experience in systems engineering – Advantage.
- Experience working with production and Qualification (QUAL) processes – Advantage.
Technical Skills
- Experience in characterization work, data analysis, and simulations.
- Proficiency in Matlab – Must; experience with Python – Advantage.
- System-level vision and multidisciplinary understanding – Must.
