Role and Responsibilities
This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of physics, electro-optics, hardware, firmware, software, and real-world system deployment. This is a system-oriented Application Engineering role combining hands-on integration, customer engagement, and product feedback in advanced electro-optical systems.
Technical Support: Provide expert technical support to customers, requiring a strong background in electronics, physics, detectors, or electro-optics. Technical Focal Point: Serve as the technical lead for customer-specific application development and system integration. Field Support: Support field evaluation and testing of electro-optical modules, including infrared and thermal imaging systems, across various platforms. Documentation: Develop and maintain application-level documentation and integration guidelines. Internal Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, Project Managers, Marketing, Product Management, Business Units, and Operations to ensure robust and reliable performance. Training & Troubleshooting: Conduct on-site and remote technical support, training, and troubleshooting for domestic and international customers. Failure Analysis: Conduct initial failure analysis and support in-depth technical investigations. Design & Validation: Participate in customer system design and product validation. Product Feedback: Provide insights to internal design teams to enhance product usability based on real-world conditions. R&D Integration: Represent the customer's perspective during R&D phases to ensure the development of the right products.
Background requirements
Education: B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Electro-Optics, or a closely related discipline. Advanced Degree: M.Sc. is considered a strong advantage. Experience: Minimum 3 years in a similar role or 5 years in a relevant industry. Technical Proficiency: Proven expertise in at least two of the following: Electro-Optical System Engineering, Electronic Circuitry, Embedded Systems, Opto-Mechanical Integration, Image Processing, or Embedded Software. Domain Advantage: Experience with semiconductor-based imaging devices, sensors, or mixed-signal systems is a strong advantage.
Skillset Requirements
Strong system-level thinking with an end-to-end execution approach. Analytical thinking, creativity, and proactive problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and presentation abilities – Mandatory. Highly developed interpersonal and teamwork capabilities – Mandatory. Ability to operate independently in a multi-tasking environment. Customer-centric attitude with a high level of accountability. Hands-on programming/scripting skills (e.g., MATLAB, Python) – Advantageous. Fluency in English (spoken and written) – Mandatory. Ability to travel occasionally for international customer support and integration tasks.
