Process Engineer

Location: Jerusalem Type: Full-time Reports To: Process Team Lead

Are you ready to solve one of the most critical challenges in the future of AI and high-performance computing? We are looking for a talented Process Engineer to join our innovative, fast-growing team in Jerusalem. In this role, you will be at the heart of the silicon photonics revolution, bridging the gap between cutting-edge R&D and scalable, high-volume production. If you are a data-driven problem solver who thrives in a multidisciplinary environment and wants to see your engineering expertise directly impact the infrastructure of next-generation data centers, we invite you to lead the way with us.

Role Overview As a Process Engineer, you will play a central role in scaling and stabilizing manufacturing processes from development into high-volume production. You will act as the technical bridge between R&D and operations, ensuring processes are robust, efficient, and consistently deliver high-quality output. This role combines hands-on engineering, data-driven decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Optimize manufacturing processes to improve yield, throughput, and cost efficiency
  • Monitor and control process stability using Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies
  • Design and execute experiments (DOE) to understand process behavior and drive improvements
  • Lead root-cause investigations for process deviations, yield loss, and product failures
  • Collaborate with R&D, quality, and production teams to transfer new processes into manufacturing
  • Develop, implement, and maintain process control strategies and best practices
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues in real time to minimize downtime
  • Create and maintain detailed SOPs, technical documentation, and engineering reports
  • Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, shifts, and optimization opportunities
  • Support global manufacturing sites, vendors, and partners (up to 30% travel)

What We Need to See

  • B.Sc. in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field (M.Sc. is an advantage)
  • 3–5 years of experience in process engineering (semiconductor, pharmaceuticals, chemical, or advanced manufacturing preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with SPC and DOE methodologies
  • Strong problem-solving skills using structured root-cause analysis tools (8D, Fishbone, 5-Why, or similar)
  • Ability to work with complex data and extract actionable insights
  • Strong technical communication skills in English (written and verbal)
  • Experience investigating product failures and identifying process- or material-related defects
  • Ability to work in cross-functional and fast-paced environments

Ways to Stand Out

  • Experience with JMP and automation using JSL for advanced data analysis
  • Proficiency in Python for data manipulation, modeling, or process optimization
  • Hands-on experience with microscopy and characterization tools (SEM, TEM, EDS, AFM)
  • Track record of scaling processes from development to high-volume manufacturing
  • Demonstrated impact on yield improvement, cost reduction, or cycle-time optimization
  • Experience working across multiple sites or in global manufacturing environments
