Position Summary:
The Career Services Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting students and alumni in achieving their career goals by providing career counseling, job search assistance, employer engagement initiatives and organizing Community engagement activities and Graduation Ceremony. This role also requires building strong relationships with employers, community partners, and internal stakeholders to create employment opportunities and ensure successful outcomes for clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Career Development & Student Support
- Provide one-on-one career advising sessions including resume and cover letter reviews, interview preparation, and career planning to achieve over 85% employment rate in each quarter.
- Facilitate workshops and seminars on job search strategies, LinkedIn optimization, personal branding, and labor market trends.
- Support students in identifying career pathways aligned with their education, skills, and goals.
- Employer Engagement
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with employers across BC to source job opportunities, internships, and co-op placements.
- Coordinate and promote job fairs, career expos, employer panels, and networking events.
- Act as a liaison between students, alumni, and hiring organizations to facilitate meaningful employment connections and develop employer database for students.
- Program Coordination & Administration
- Track and report employment outcomes, student engagement, and other key performance metrics including Confirmation of Employment each week.
- Maintain up-to-date career resources, job boards, and employer database
- Support the implementation of career development programs and initiatives aligned with institutional goals.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with faculty, academic advisors, and student services to integrate career readiness into the student experience.
- Partner with community organizations, government agencies, and workforce development programs to enhance career service offerings.
- Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Career Development, Education, or a related field.
- Minimum 23 years of experience in career services, student advising, employment services, recruitment or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of the BC labor market and employment trends.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience using career development tools and platforms (e.g., job boards, CRM systems, resume builders).
- Certification in career development (e.g., CCDP) is an asset.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Career Development, Education, or a related field.
- Minimum 23 years of experience in career services, student advising, employment services, recruitment or a similar role.

Working Conditions:
- Some travel within the province may be required for employer visits or outreach events.
- Occasional evening or weekend hours may be needed to support events or student availability
