Position Overview

The instructor plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, career-focused instruction to adult learners in a private career college setting. The ideal candidate will be passionate about education, student-centered, and adaptable to various learning styles. Instructors are responsible for preparing and delivering course content, assessing student progress, and contributing to a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Instructional Delivery

• Deliver course material in alignment with approved curriculum and college standards

• Engage learners using a variety of teaching methods and technology

• Facilitate both in-person and online instruction depending on course format

Student Engagement & Support

• Support student learning through one-on-one guidance, academic coaching, and encouragement

• Monitor and assess student performance, attendance, and participation

• Provide timely and constructive feedback on assignments and assessments

Classroom & Course Management

• Prepare lesson plans, presentations, handouts, and course materials

• Maintain accurate records of student grades, attendance, and evaluations

• Coordinate with administrative staff to ensure smooth classroom operations

Compliance & Quality Assurance

• Follow institutional policies and regulatory requirements

• Ensure proper documentation of student progress and instructional delivery

• Participate in program reviews, internal audits, and quality improvement processes

Professional Development & Collaboration

• Attend staff meetings, professional development workshops, and training sessions

• Collaborate with fellow instructors and academic staff to improve instructional practices

• Stay current with industry trends and program-specific knowledge

Qualifications and Skills

Education & Experience:

• Degree in the field of instruction (Required)

• Minimum 4 years of industry experience (Required)

• Teaching Experience in private career colleges or adult education (Preferred)

Technical Proficiency:

• Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Moodle or Blackboard

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Soft Skills:

• Strong communication and presentation skills

• Ability to motivate, support, and guide adult learners

• Organized, dependable, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
