Position Overview
The instructor plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, career-focused instruction to adult learners in a private career college setting. The ideal candidate will be passionate about education, student-centered, and adaptable to various learning styles. Instructors are responsible for preparing and delivering course content, assessing student progress, and contributing to a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Instructional Delivery
- Deliver course material in alignment with approved curriculum and college standards
- Engage learners using a variety of teaching methods and technology
- Facilitate both in-person and online instruction depending on course format
Student Engagement & Support
- Support student learning through one-on-one guidance, academic coaching, and encouragement
- Monitor and assess student performance, attendance, and participation
- Provide timely and constructive feedback on assignments and assessments
Classroom & Course Management
- Prepare lesson plans, presentations, handouts, and course materials
- Maintain accurate records of student grades, attendance, and evaluations
- Coordinate with administrative staff to ensure smooth classroom operations
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Follow institutional policies and regulatory requirements
- Ensure proper documentation of student progress and instructional delivery
- Participate in program reviews, internal audits, and quality improvement processes
Professional Development & Collaboration
- Attend staff meetings, professional development workshops, and training sessions
- Collaborate with fellow instructors and academic staff to improve instructional practices
- Stay current with industry trends and program-specific knowledge
Qualifications and Skills
Education & Experience:
- Degree in the field of instruction (Required)
- Minimum 4 years of industry experience (Required)
- Teaching Experience in private career colleges or adult education (Preferred)
Technical Proficiency:
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Moodle or Blackboard
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to motivate, support, and guide adult learners
- Organized, dependable, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
