Purpose of the job

A professional database administrator (DBA) will keep the database up and running smoothly 24/7. The goal is to provide a seamless flow of information throughout the company, considering both backend data structure and frontend accessibility for end-users.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Build database systems of high availability and quality depending on each end user
  • Design and implement database in accordance to end users information needs and views
  • Define users and enable data distribution to the right user, in appropriate format and in a timely manner
  • Use high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data
  • Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses
  • Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users
  • Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards
  • Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity
  • Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required
  • Installation and configuration : Install , upgrade, migrate and maintain Oracle databases
  • Database Administration: Managing oracle databases and support all critical services 24*7 and have experience to identify the databases issues
  • Performance Tuning : have the ability to perform SQL tuning queries and Database tuning and identify and resolve performance bottlenecks
  • high availability and disaster recovery: Implement and maintain high availability solution such as Oracle Rac , Data guard and Golden Gate
  • Monitoring and alerting: setting up monitoring tool and build proactive monitoring with tool such as OEM and shell scripts
  • Backup and recovery: have the ability to using backup and restore tool such as RMAN and Data Pump
  • Security Management: implement and maintain security patches and recommendation baseline

Job specification

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of Database experience
  • BS degree in a computer discipline or relevant certification
  • Hands-on experience with database maintenance and operation
  • Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL
  • Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third party tools
  • Hands-on experience with High availability solution ( Rac & DataGuard& Golden Gate )
  • Experience in Performance Turing SQL Tuning & Database tuing enhancement
  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix
  • Strong experience in Shell Scripting
  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager OEM
  • Business Continuity or Disaster Recovery planning experience
  • Oracle Certified professional certification OCP preferred
