Purpose of the job
Responsible for designing & implementing the best solution of large-scale financial platforms that should be aligned with the technical road map and the business requirements. The Advisor, Solution Architecture is accountable for translating complex business requirements into secure, scalable technical architectures across the IT organization leveraging the deep technical expertise in digital payments, mobile wallets, and system integration.
Duties and responsibilities
- Find the best tech end-to-end solutions of mobile money, wallet, and payment solutions.
- Define the solution architecture, integration layers, and technical standards for multiple digital channels.
- Collaborate with business, product, and engineering teams to align technology solutions with strategic goals.
- Design and oversee integration between mobile apps, APIs, gateways, and third-party systems (banks, billers, aggregators).
- Ensure scalability, performance, and security across all solution components.
- Provide technical leadership during development, deployment, and testing phases.
- Develop and maintain solution documentation, architecture diagrams, and interface specifications.
Job Specifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Telecommunications Engineering
Experience:
- 8+ years of professional experience in solution architecture and system integration for enterprise-scale platforms.
- Proven experience in mobile money, fintech, or digital payment systems.
- Strong knowledge of Mobile Money ecosystems including wallet management, agent management, KYC, bill payments, and merchant payments.
- Familiarity with leading platforms such as Ericsson Wallet Platform, Comviva, Huawei Mobile Money, Mahindra, or MFS Africa.
- Expertise in API architecture (REST/SOAP), microservices.
- Understanding security and compliance standards (PCI DSS, ISO 27001, data encryption) is a plus.
- Experience with core banking integration, payment switches, and mobile channels (USSD, SMS, mobile apps) is advantage.
- TOGAF certification is a plus.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
