Supervisor, Network Performance Solutions Engineer (DevOps)

Purpose of the job

He will be responsible for the deployment and support the network performance solutions that adhere to the highest standards to assure robust, low latency services to OEG customers.

Duties and responsibilities

• Interacting with Network/Tools Engineering and Network Operations teams to create innovative solutions to reduce network impacting incidents, improve speed and accuracy of performance management, reduce manual work and also enhance network tooling visibility.

• Interacting and participating with security engineering and infosec teams to build the required connectivity for new performance management solutions.

• Appling latest technologies related to DevSecOps and support security engineering and infosec to deply/develop network performance solutions.

• Contributing to the design and enhancement of the global backbone and datacenter infrastructures.

• Leveraging networking tools to identify and mitigate network anomalies.

• Crossing and merging the barriers that exist between engineering, software development, testing, and operations teams and keep existing networks in mind as they design, plan and test.

• Working in an Agile framework, and will be part of the Scrum ceremonies like Sprint Planning, Daily Stand up, Sprint review, and retrospective

• Collecting feedback from technical staff on development needs

• Analyzing application data and traffic flow data to identify and improve on sub-optimal network behaviors.

• Leveraging and assisting in the development of automation tools and processes to proactively monitor the health of the network and respond to events.

• Working with Solution Architect to document the existing standards and develop designs to improve the efficiency of the automation solutions

• Participating in developing technical reports required for  operation and engineering teams.

• Creating conceptual diagrams, visual mock-ups, and manage detailed user interface specifications

• Engaging in requirement specification process for new software functionality.

Job specification

Education

• B.Sc. Electrical Engineering: Electronics and Communication

• B.Sc. Computer Engineering or equivalent
• ITI Graduates with any B.Sc. degree.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in DevOps, Web development as a freelancer or full-time employee 
• Good technical background in IP Networks
• Good technical background in Cloud infrastructure
• Have a good level of understanding for the following:

1.  REST API's
2. Net flow/SNMP
3. Virtualization (ESXI)
4. System Admin (window server, linx)
5. Scripting (python)
6. Data analysis (excel, pandas, numpy,grafana)
7. Open source solution (telegraf, influx DB, )
8. Devops (docker, kafka) 
9. IP subneting
10. BGP, static routing, MPLS and VR
