Junior Storage Engineer

Purpose of the job

Providing maintenance, support, day-to-day task execution and documentation for UNIX systems within Orange IT department.

Duties and responsibilities

1. Administer Orange UNIX, storage and backup systems including users and performance monitoring, etc.

2. Troubleshoot and investigate common problems and escalate complex problems to expert admins.

3. Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain OS, backup , database systems and support tools.

4. Monitor system availability.

5. Maintain inventory for all IT systems.

6. Work closely with operations support team members to resolve common issues.

7. Handle all data and system backups and restores.

8. Support data center activities including installation, onsite configuration and cabling, etc.

Job specifications

Education

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.

Experience

• 1-2 years of experience in Information Technology.
• Oracle, UNIX products and operating systems background.

Skills and abilities

• Very good English both spoken and written.
• Very good computer skills.
• High communication skills.
• Self-learner using documentation and online classes.
• Able to provide support in a mixed UNIX and database environment.
