About the Role:
The Product Owner works closely with Product Managers, UI and UX designers, architects, and engineers to break down features into well-defined user stories, manage dependencies, and support iterative delivery through Agile practices. The role requires a strong understanding of the underlying technology stack to effectively collaborate with technical teams and interpret architecture and low-level design considerations.
This is an internal facing role focused on enabling delivery excellence rather than direct external stakeholder management.
An AI-first mindset is required. The Product Owner is expected to actively leverage AI tools to automate tasks such as reporting, documentation, and refinement, and to improve overall productivity and quality of outputs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Translate business requirements into clear, structured user stories with detailed acceptance criteria
- Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring proper prioritization and readiness for sprint execution
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, UI and UX teams, and engineers to refine requirements and ensure alignment
- Break down features into incremental deliverables and manage dependencies across teams
- Lead and participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and reviews
- Perform Product Owner validation to ensure solutions meet business requirements and identify cross functional impacts
- Interpret architecture diagrams and technical requirements to ensure user stories are feasible and complete
- Leverage AI tools to support documentation, reporting, and requirement refinement
Ownership and Decision-Making
- Owns backlog quality, prioritization, and readiness
- Responsible for requirement clarity and completeness
- Collaborates in solution design and validation with Technical Lead and Product Managers
- Acts as a key decision contributor in requirement scoping and delivery alignment
Scope and Boundaries
- Does not own people management or engineering delivery
- Does not make final product strategy decisions, which remain with Product Managers
- Does not perform deep technical implementation
- Product and Environment Context
- Works on a document-centric platform focused on structured documents, styling, tagging, and formatting
- Requires understanding of document structure and formatting, with a strong preference for HTML and CSS expertise applied to document outputs rather than web UI
- Operates in an active development and scaling environment
- Works closely with internal stakeholders including Product Managers, UI and UX, and Engineering teams
Key Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or within SaaS software development
- Strong experience in writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and requirements documentation
- Solid understanding of Agile Scrum methodology and sprint-based delivery
- Ability to balance short-term sprint execution with longer term product objectives
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across cross functional teams
- Ability to read and interpret architecture diagrams and understand technical concepts at a working level
- Experience in backlog management, dependency mapping, and iterative delivery
Preferred Skills
- Experience with HTML and CSS for document formatting and structured outputs
- Familiarity with document generation, styling, and tagging concepts
- Background in areas such as workflow, reporting, collaboration tools, or document management systems
AI Capability Requirements
- Proficient in using AI tools such as ChatGPT and Copilot for task automation and productivity
- Ability to apply AI in requirement writing, refinement, and documentation
- Demonstrated ability to use AI in practical scenarios during the interview process
