ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Senior Financial Analyst plays a key role in supporting financial planning, performance analysis, and executive decision-making. This position leads to complex financial analysis, develops advanced financial models, and provides critical insights that help guide business growth and operational efficiency. This role is part of a relatively small finance team and involves collaboration and frequent interaction with senior leadership.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the maintenance and evolution of advanced financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning.
- Analyze financial performance, trends, and key drivers to support executive decision-making.
- Ensure accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting and analysis.
- Support the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting cycles across business units.
- Perform variance analysis and identify key business drivers impacting financial performance.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate business initiatives, investments, and new opportunities.
- Conduct scenario analysis and financial impact assessments for strategic initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting automation, and forecasting accuracy.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Educational Background
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field. A master's degree or professional certification (CFA, CPA, or similar) is desirable.
Years of Experience
- 8–10 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or corporate finance.
Communication Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear business insights, rated at least 8/10.
MS Office Applications Proficiency
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex financial modeling, pivot tables, and data visualization with a rating of at least 9/10.
- Strong PowerPoint and financial presentation skills.
Other Qualifications
- Experience working with North American clients and cultivating effective working relationships.
- Ability to take directions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent financial modeling and forecasting capabilities.
- Experience with FP&A tools, ERP systems, and financial reporting platforms.
- Able to deliver high-quality results within agreed turnaround times
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- High attention to detail and commitment to financial accuracy.
