About The Role:
The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance for client accounts within a fast-paced BPO environment. This position is responsible for overseeing end-to-end accounting processes, including general ledger management, reconciliations, month-end and year-end closing, and preparation of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
As a critical member of the finance team, the Senior Accountant may also provide guidance to staff accountants, support process improvements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, timely, and client-focused financial services. The role requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Month-End and Year-End Close: Assist with the timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end close processes, including all end-to-end full cycle accounting related responsibilities
- General Ledger Management: Maintain additional general ledger accounts, prepare monthly accruals and recurring entries, work with various team members to maintain subledgers
- Reconciliations: Prepare monthly bank reconciliations, prepare additional monthly and quarterly reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies
- Cash Management: Record daily cash deposits and disbursements, ensure all entries are posted accurately and timely, resolve any discrepancies within cash general ledger accounts
- Report Preparation: Prepare recurring weekly, monthly reporting, as well as ad hoc reports as necessary to support management decision making
- Auditing and Compliance: Assist with internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and addressing inquiries
- Leadership Experience: Some experience leading or mentoring junior staff (either formally or informally) as position evolves and the team grows
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement ways to improve accounting efficiency and accuracy through process enhancements and use of accounting software and systems
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
- CPA a plus, but not required
- 8-10+ years of experience with U.S. GAAP
- Ability to think critically with an analytical mindset a must
- Excellent communication and strong English skills
- Detail oriented and capable of working independently
- Willing to take the initiative and to be accountable
- Proficiency in Accounting Software with strong Excel skills
- Strong operational execution and project management skills
- Small/Medium Business work experience preferred (reports to Controller)
