About the Role
The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance for client accounts within a fast-paced BPO environment. This position is responsible for overseeing end-to-end accounting processes, including general ledger management, reconciliations, month-end and year-end closing, and preparation of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP. As a critical member of the finance team, the Senior Accountant may also provide guidance to junior accountants, support process improvements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, timely, and client-focused financial services. The role requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
What you'll do:
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Preparing and analyzing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- General Ledger Management: Maintaining the general ledger, posting journal entries, and ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Reconciliations: Performing monthly, quarterly, and annual account and bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Month-End and Year-End Close: Managing and coordinating the timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Preparing Reports: Generating various financial reports and summaries, which are often presented to management to support decision-making.
- Auditing and Compliance: Assisting with internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and addressing inquiries; developing and documenting internal controls and accounting policies.
- Process Improvement: Identifying and implementing ways to improve accounting efficiency and accuracy through process enhancements and the use of accounting software and systems.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting required.
- 8-10 years of experience with U.S. GAAP.
- Excellent communication and strong English skills.
- Proficiency in Accounting Software. QuickBooks and Workday a plus.
- Strong operational execution and project management skills.
- Small/Medium Business work experience preferred (reports to Controller).
- Cash to accrual-based accounting experience is a plus
