Job Description
- Oversee financial management, reporting, and accounting operations across multiple affiliated professional services entities
- Prepare and maintain daily cash reporting for leadership
- Build monthly and annual financial reporting packages
- Prepare budget-to-actual reporting and support annual budgeting and forecasting
- Create and maintain financial dashboards that give leadership better visibility into firm performance
- Develop cost accounting and profitability reporting related to professional time, billing, and service line performance
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of accounting records and financial reports
- Oversee general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and monthly close activities
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements
- Manage billing oversight, collections workflows, and firm-wide AR processes
- Ensure vendors are paid accurately and on time
- Coordinate with outside accounting partners and tax advisors as needed
- Oversee payroll processing and payroll reporting in coordination with outside providers
- Serve as the internal owner of financial systems and help improve processes as the organization grows
- Maintain and optimize accounting system performance, including integrations between billing, accounting, and reporting tools
- Act as the internal QuickBooks Online subject matter expert
Qualifications
- 3+ years of accounting, finance, or controller-level experience
- Strong expertise in QuickBooks Online
- Experience producing high-quality financial reporting and financial analysis
- Experience building cost accounting and profitability reporting
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on execution
- Experience in a law firm, accounting firm, financial firm, or other professional services environment is preferred
- Controller or Accounting Manager experience is preferred
- Multi-entity experience is preferred
