Note

Candidates must have 3+ years of patent prosecution support experience within a law firm, including hands-on foreign patent filing and prosecution experience. Strong experience with PCT and USPTO filing procedures and coordinating foreign filings with international counsel is required.

Job Description

  • Prepare, coordinate, and file U.S. and PCT patent applications and related prosecution documents.
  • Support office action responses, issue fee payments, IDS filings, and other USPTO prosecution activities.
  • Prepare formal patent documents, including declarations, assignments, and powers of attorney.
  • Coordinate execution and filing of U.S. formal documents with inventors and the USPTO.
  • Coordinate direct foreign filings and national stage entries with attorneys and international law firms.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for clients and assist with portfolio management, status reports, charts, and special projects.
  • Upload and maintain prosecution materials in client portal and docketing platforms.
  • Manage patent dockets, monitor deadlines, and follow up with attorneys and team members to keep matters moving.
  • Help maintain strong quality control across filing, prosecution, and docketing processes.
  • Maintain accurate time records for client billing as needed.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of patent prosecution support experience in a law firm.
  • Experience as a patent prosecution paralegal, patent specialist, prosecution secretary, administrator, or similar role.
  • Hands-on experience with foreign patent filing and prosecution.
  • Strong knowledge of PCT and USPTO filing and prosecution procedures.
  • Experience coordinating foreign filings with international or foreign counsel.
  • Experience with docketing or client platforms such as Anaqua, Lecorpio, IPfolio, or similar systems.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and client service skills.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a remote environment.
  • Proactive, dependable, collaborative, and detail-oriented approach.
