About the job Real Estate Attorney
Pay: $190,000.00 - $330,000.00 per year
Why this is a great opportunity
- Do sophisticated, large-firm-quality transactional work — without the large-firm grind or billable pressure
- Direct client contact and real transaction ownership from day one, not just supporting roles
- Billable expectations meaningfully below big-firm norms, so you actually have a life outside work
- Competitive compensation with a realistic, clearly defined path to partnership at a stable, well-respected boutique
- Flexible office arrangements handled individually — this is a firm that treats attorneys like adults
- Work alongside lawyers with deep large-firm backgrounds who have, in many cases, practiced together for over 20 years
- Two open seats available — a rare chance to join an established team at a growth moment
Location: Based in Austin, TX. The firm offers flexible office arrangements on a case-by-case basis, with a preference for candidates who can spend meaningful time in the Austin office, particularly those earlier in their careers. If you are relocating to Austin or planning to, we want to hear from you.
Note: Active Texas bar admission is required. Candidates must also have 2+ years of transactional real estate experience to be considered. Candidates who do not meet both of these requirements will not be moving forward regardless of other qualifications.
About us
We are an Austin-based real estate boutique comprised of lawyers with large-firm pedigrees — many of whom have worked together for more than two decades. Our practice spans the full range of commercial real estate transactions, including debt and equity financings, acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, and complex development work. We also maintain a strong complementary business and tax practice. We are short on protocol and formalities, but long on flexibility and quality. Confidential Employer.
Job description
- Handle transactional real estate matters across debt and equity financings, purchase and sale transactions, leasing, and development (including declarations, CC&Rs, and development agreements)
- Draft, negotiate, and close complex commercial real estate transactions with appropriate supervision
- Manage deal timelines, coordinate with clients and counterparties, and maintain direct client relationships
- Handle leasing matters across retail, office, and warehouse/flex asset classes
- Collaborate with firm partners on sophisticated, regionally and nationally recognized transactions
- Contribute to a collegial, high-performance team environment where your work has real impact
Qualifications
- Active Texas bar admission required
- 2+ years of transactional real estate experience at a large firm or sophisticated boutique

- Background in loan documentation, development, or entitlement work is a plus
- In-house or solo practice backgrounds with the right deal experience are welcome
Why you will love working here
- The work is genuinely sophisticated — comparable to what you would find at a large firm, but with far less friction and overhead
- A culture built on flexibility, trust, and long-term relationships — with both clients and colleagues
- Real ownership of your matters and a voice in how your practice develops
- Two decades of firm stability, a deep client base, and a credible path to partnership for the right person
- Austin is the market, and this firm is well-established in it
