Pay: $165,000.00 - $185,000.00 per year

Location: Dallas, TX. This is a hybrid opportunity following onboarding, with a strong preference for attorneys located in the Dallas Fort Worth area who can appear in Texas federal courts and the Fifth Circuit as needed.

Note: Candidates must have 5+ years of federal litigation experience, an active law license in good standing in any U.S. state, and the ability to manage both a litigation docket and legal team. Candidates must also be admitted to a Texas federal district court and/or the Fifth Circuit, or already have an admission application filed with admission obtainable within 90 days.

Job Description

• Own the federal litigation docket from case strategy through filing, hearings, appeals, and resolution.
• Handle habeas petitions, mandamus actions, APA claims, federal district court complaints, TROs, preliminary injunctions, Fifth Circuit appeals, and related stay practice.
• Draft, review, finalize, and electronically file federal court submissions.
• Maintain accurate court deadlines, case status, ownership, and docket reporting.
• Manage attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, and outside counsel involved in litigation matters.
• Build case records, legal theories, and requested relief.
• Coordinate with immigration attorneys so federal litigation aligns with underlying USCIS, detention, or removal matters.
• Appear in Texas federal district courts and the Fifth Circuit as needed.
• Lead hearing and oral argument preparation.
• Train junior attorneys on habeas, mandamus, and related federal litigation.
• Provide leadership with clear reporting on significant litigation decisions and case developments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of federal litigation experience.
• Active law license in good standing in any U.S. state.
• Admission to a Texas federal district court and/or the Fifth Circuit, or pending application with admission obtainable within 90 days.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage a federal litigation docket.
• Experience supervising attorneys, paralegals, or litigation support staff.
• Strong federal brief writing, filing, and deadline management skills.
• Immigration-related habeas, mandamus, or APA experience strongly preferred.
• Fifth Circuit briefing or oral argument experience preferred.
• Knowledge of removal, detention, or USCIS matters preferred.
