Location: This is an on-site position based in our Burlington, Vermont office, with occasional travel to other offices as needed. We strongly prefer candidates who are already located in the area or have meaningful ties to Vermont, New Hampshire, or Northern New England.

Note: Candidates must have a J.D. from an accredited law school and be admitted to practice law. Vermont or New Hampshire Bar admission is strongly preferred. Experience in real estate, environmental law, energy law, telecommunications, permitting, regulatory compliance, land use, or related areas is preferred.

Job Description

  • Support a broad range of real estate, energy, environmental, telecommunications, public utility, permitting, and regulatory matters.
  • Assist with real estate transactions, land use matters, project development, permitting strategy, and regulatory compliance.
  • Research, analyze, and apply specific areas of law affecting real estate, energy, environmental, and telecommunications projects.
  • Draft, review, and analyze legal documents, correspondence, agreements, filings, memoranda, and project-related materials.
  • Work with attorneys and clients on matters involving real estate development, energy projects, utility issues, land use approvals, environmental review, and telecom infrastructure.
  • Communicate with clients, agencies, opposing counsel, consultants, and other project participants.
  • Collaborate with a team of experienced attorneys across Vermont and Northern New Hampshire.
  • Take on increasing responsibility as your legal, regulatory, and client-facing skills develop.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law.
  • 1 to 4 years of legal experience preferred.
  • Vermont or New Hampshire Bar admission is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with real estate transactions, permitting, regulatory compliance, environmental law, energy law, telecommunications, land use, public utility work, or project development is preferred.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, practical judgment, and ability to manage complex legal and regulatory issues.
  • Advanced degree or prior professional experience in real estate, environmental, energy, or telecommunications matters is a plus.
  • Vermont, New Hampshire, or Northern New England ties are strongly preferred.
