Location: This is a fully remote position based in Illinois. While you can work from anywhere in the state, we also offer two office locations if you prefer a professional workspace or enjoy the energy of an in-person environment. Flexibility is built into how we work.

Note: Candidates must hold an active Illinois Bar license and have 4 or more years of family law experience. This role is not suitable for candidates without both qualifications.

Job Description

  • Represent clients in all areas of family law, including divorce, child custody, parenting time, child support, spousal support/alimony, and prenuptial agreements
  • Prepare and draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments, and orders across a high volume of cases
  • Appear in court on behalf of clients as needed, presenting arguments clearly and persuasively even in emotionally charged situations
  • Collaborate with senior partners and paralegals to move files efficiently through the civil litigation process
  • Analyze complex family situations, develop strategy, and advocate effectively for each client's unique needs
  • Manage and maintain client files with accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail
  • Handle matters involving sensitive issues including child abuse, domestic violence, and high-conflict custody with professionalism and composure

Qualifications

  • Active Illinois Bar license required
  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
  • 4+ years of family law experience at a law firm
  • Demonstrated success representing clients in divorce, custody, support, and related family law matters
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong negotiation and advocacy abilities
  • Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in high-stress, emotionally sensitive situations
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a high-volume caseload
