Location: Hybrid in Richmond, Virginia (mix of in-office collaboration and work-from-home flexibility)

Note: Must have 2+ years of complex litigation paralegal experience. Medical malpractice litigation experience is preferred.

Job Description

  • Support medical malpractice defense attorneys from case inception through trial
  • Manage case timelines, workflows, and litigation project tracking to keep matters on schedule
  • Draft and format pleadings, motions, and discovery responses
  • Coordinate discovery organization and collaborate on record collection (including medical records)
  • Review and summarize deposition transcripts and key case materials
  • Issue subpoenas and assist with tracking incoming records and production
  • Coordinate and schedule depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials
  • Assist with identifying, retaining, and coordinating expert witnesses
  • Prepare trial exhibits, demonstratives, binders, and courtroom materials
  • Serve as trial paralegal as needed (trials, ADR, depositions)

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of complex litigation paralegal experience
  • Preferred: 1+ year supporting medical malpractice litigation matters
  • Bachelors degree strongly preferred
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through
  • Confident communication skills and a professional, service-oriented approach
  • Comfortable using document management and case management platforms
