Location:

Wheat Ridge, CO or Rockville, MD — on-site. The role includes approximately 25% to 40% fieldwork and occasional travel for local, national, and international projects.

Note:

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Geophysics and at least 1 year of directly relevant NDE/NDT and/or engineering geophysics experience are required. Candidates with an oil and gas background will not be considered.

Job Description

  • Perform nondestructive evaluation and engineering geophysics data acquisition in the field.
  • Process, analyze, and interpret NDE and geophysical data.
  • Support evaluations of bridges, buildings, dams, tunnels, pavements, foundations, and other civil infrastructure.
  • Prepare technical reports, proposals, and project documentation.
  • Communicate and coordinate directly with clients and project teams.
  • Apply NDE methods such as Impact Echo, Sonic Echo, Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity/Echo, Ground Penetrating Radar, corrosion evaluation, infrared thermography, pile integrity testing, and structural health monitoring.
  • Support field investigations that may involve difficult conditions, heights, nights, weekends, and extended travel.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively while contributing to projects from field data collection through final analysis and reporting.
  • Travel nationally and occasionally internationally for project assignments, including occasional trips lasting 2 to 3 weeks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geophysics, Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or Materials Engineering.
  • 1+ year of NDE/NDT and/or engineering geophysics experience; 2+ years strongly preferred.
  • Strong data collection, analysis, technical writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively, including occasional national and international travel.
  • Comfortable performing fieldwork in difficult conditions and working at heights.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Clean driving record and ability to meet client site requirements, including drug testing when required.
  • EIT registration is a plus; PE registration is preferred.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, GIS, structural analysis, finite element modeling, or NDE instrumentation is a plus.
  • Candidates with oil and gas experience as their primary background will not be considered.
