Location:
Albany, NY — Hybrid flexibility is available after hiring, with required in-person court appearances throughout the assigned Upstate New York area.
Note:
Must have an active New York State Bar license, 2+ years of family law and matrimonial/divorce litigation experience, and hands-on New York court experience with the ability to make independent in-person court appearances.

Job Description
- Independently manage family law and matrimonial/divorce litigation matters from commencement through resolution.
- Make regular in-person appearances in New York courts for conferences, hearings, motions, compliance conferences, and other proceedings.
- Represent clients in matters involving divorce, equitable distribution, maintenance, child support, custody, and related family law issues.
- Draft pleadings, motions, orders, stipulations, settlement agreements, and other legal documents.
- Handle discovery, including financial discovery and document review.
- Conduct legal research and prepare motions, memoranda, and litigation strategy.
- Negotiate settlements and participate in settlement conferences and mediations.
- Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and the Court.
- Develop case strategy and provide clear, practical legal advice to clients.
- Manage deadlines, filings, appearances, and an active caseload efficiently.
- Travel to assigned courts throughout the Albany and broader Upstate New York region as needed.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active New York State Bar admission.
- 2+ years of family law and matrimonial/divorce litigation experience.
- Hands-on New York court experience, including independent court appearances.
- Strong legal writing, research, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to independently manage multiple active matters.
- Excellent client communication and case-management skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel for required court appearances.
