Location:

This is a fully remote role for candidates based in California, with optional in-office access available through select clients in various California markets.

Note:

Candidates must be licensed and in good standing with the California State Bar and must have at least 1 year of workers' compensation defense experience.

Job Description

  • Handle workers' compensation defense matters from inception through resolution
  • Represent clients at depositions, hearings, conferences, trials, and other WCAB proceedings
  • Draft pleadings, reports, correspondence, settlement documents, and legal analysis
  • Evaluate claims and provide strategic recommendations to clients
  • Communicate with employers, carriers, TPAs, opposing counsel, medical providers, and internal legal teams
  • Manage case files in a paperless environment while meeting deadlines and client expectations
  • Work closely with partners, senior attorneys, and support staff to move cases efficiently and effectively

Qualifications

  • Active California State Bar license in good standing
  • 1+ year of workers' compensation defense experience
  • Experience handling California workers' compensation matters
  • Strong writing, communication, and case management skills
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
  • Experience with MerusCase or similar case management software is preferred
