Location: Branford, Connecticut. We value in-person collaboration and prefer our attorneys to work with us on-site, while remaining open to a hybrid arrangement for the right candidate.

Note: A J.D. from an accredited law school is required. Connecticut Bar admission is strongly preferred. We are flexible on experience level and are especially interested in attorneys with civil litigation, courtroom, deposition, motions practice, or trial experience.

Job Description

  • Manage civil litigation matters from initial case evaluation through resolution.
  • Develop case strategy, conduct legal research, and provide practical advice to clients.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and other litigation documents.
  • Take and defend depositions and prepare witnesses for testimony.
  • Appear in court for hearings, conferences, motions, and trials.
  • Participate in settlement negotiations, mediations, and case resolution strategy.
  • Prepare cases for trial, including exhibits, witnesses, legal arguments, and overall trial strategy.
  • Communicate directly with clients regarding case developments, risks, and recommended next steps.
  • Collaborate with partners, associates, and support professionals on complex litigation matters.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Connecticut Bar admission required.
  • Civil litigation or trial experience preferred, although we are flexible on seniority.
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities effectively.
  • Experience with motions, discovery, depositions, hearings, or trials is highly valued.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, professional approach.
