Job Description
- Oversee and support daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, credit card transactions, and general ledger entries.
- Track, analyze, and troubleshoot accounting transactions through the ERP system from source documents through financial reporting.
- Prepare month-end close items, including journal entries, accruals, bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, and related account reconciliations.
- Manage employee expense submissions, review for policy compliance, and ensure timely reimbursement.
- Prepare and file multi-state sales and use tax returns while maintaining exemption certificates and compliance records.
- Manage customer and vendor account setup, credit reviews, collections, and account maintenance.
- Support accounting controls, reporting accuracy, documentation, and continuous process improvement.
- Assist with fixed asset tracking, petty cash audits, depreciation schedules, and related accounting records.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external accountants on monthly close, year-end close, audits, and special projects.
- Help train and support accounting team members while promoting accuracy, accountability, and professional service.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of progressive accounting, bookkeeping, or finance experience required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Associate degree with strong directly relevant experience will also be considered.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is a strong plus.
- Proficiency with Sage 100 preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, sales/use tax compliance, accounting transactions, and month-end close processes.
- Ability to follow, analyze, and troubleshoot transactions through an ERP system.
- Strong Microsoft 365 skills preferred.
- Detail-oriented, organized, analytical, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Self-starter with a positive attitude, strong time management skills, and excellent problem-solving ability.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion and integrity.
