Pay: $120,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year

Location: This is a hybrid opportunity based in downtown Chicago, IL, offering the benefits of in-person collaboration along with flexible remote workdays.

Note: Candidates must be admitted to practice in Illinois and have at least 2 years of insurance coverage experience. A JD from an accredited law school and strong legal research and writing skills are required.

Job Description

• Draft insurance coverage opinions and coverage position letters involving complex policy issues
• Analyze insurance policies, claims, potential exposures, and coverage obligations
• Handle insurance coverage litigation matters across jurisdictions nationwide
• Conduct detailed legal research and develop clear, persuasive written analysis
• Collaborate closely with partners and associates on sophisticated coverage matters
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding coverage strategy, litigation developments, and case direction
• Build practical litigation and insurance coverage experience while taking on increasing responsibility

Qualifications

• 2+ years of insurance coverage experience
• Active Illinois Bar admission
• JD from an accredited law school
• Excellent legal research, analytical, and writing skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Experience with commercial general liability, commercial auto, professional liability, or D&O policies is preferred
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented practice
