Location

This is a full-time on-site role based in Indianapolis, Indiana, working closely with an in-house architecture and structural engineering team in a collaborative office environment.

Note

This role requires a Civil or Structural Engineering degree and 5 plus years of structural engineering building design experience. Professional Engineer licensure or the ability to obtain within 12 months is highly preferred.

Job Description

  • Lead structural engineering projects from early design through construction
  • Prepare preliminary structural concepts and develop construction-ready designs
  • Review building codes and ensure proper implementation throughout the design process
  • Coordinate with architects, construction project managers, and engineering partners across disciplines
  • Produce structural calculations and guide technical drafting during construction document preparation
  • Develop coordinated structural drawings to ensure completeness and accuracy across disciplines
  • Support construction administration, including shop drawing review, RFI responses, and coordination with construction teams
  • Communicate clearly with drafting staff, clients, and project stakeholders

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
  • 5 plus years of structural engineering building design experience, ideally in commercial construction
  • Experience designing structural systems using steel, concrete, masonry, and light gauge steel, with a solid foundation design understanding
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Revit proficiency preferred, especially in producing construction-level structural drawings
  • Experience with analysis and design tools such as RAM Structural System, SAP2000, RISA, or similar preferred
  • Professional Engineer license or the ability to obtain one within 12 months is highly preferred
