About the job Billing and Collection Specialist
We are looking for a Billing (Accounts Payable) & Collection Specialist with experience in property management to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing vendor payments, handling resident billing, tracking receivables, and ensuring timely collections. Key Responsibilities:
Billing / Accounts Payable (AP):

Process vendor invoices, ensure proper approvals, and schedule payments accurately and on time.

Maintain accurate AP records in the accounting system, ensuring correct coding to properties and GL accounts.

Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any billing discrepancies or issues.

Assist with monthly closing activities, including AP reporting and accrual entries.

Coordinate with property managers for invoice approvals and expense verification.
Collections / Accounts Receivable (AR):

Monitor resident and tenant accounts to ensure timely rent and fee payments.

Send out payment reminders, late notices, and collection letters as needed.

Post payments, process deposits, and reconcile AR balances regularly.

Work closely with residents, boards, and property managers to resolve payment issues or disputes.

Manage delinquency reports and escalate accounts for further collection efforts when necessary.
Qualifications:
Experience:

At least 1 year of experience in Accounts Payable and Collections, preferably in a property management or HOA environment.

Familiarity with property management systems such as AppFolio, Yardi, Vantaca, or Buildium is a strong advantage.
Technical Skills:

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets.

Strong understanding of accounts payable, receivables, and property-level accounting.

Ability to manage large volumes of transactions across multiple properties or associations.
Soft Skills:

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
