Our client is embarking on a program of work that will replace the existing SAP ECC6 on-premise solution with an implementation of SAP S/4HANA functionality for the following business areas. Finance, Procurement, Asset Management, Supply Chain & Inventory Management, Expense Management, Financial Planning Budgeting and Forecasting.

The transition to AWS cloud-based SAP S/4HANA will improve a number of aspects of the way the Business functions and ultimately undertakes the day-to-day activities necessary to protect lives and property. The Improvements and benefits expected from the SAP Program are:

  • Introduction of automated workflows, reducing manual paper or email-based processes

  • Faster invoice payments and expense reimbursements
  • Increased quality, access and timeliness of information
  • Supported, reliable and robust technology supporting scalability for future growth
  • Easier ordering and management of inventory; and
  • Improved data to inform asset maintenance and upgrade/replacement decisions


Key Deliverables 

The key deliverables of the S/4 HANA Data Lead are:

  • Lead the SAP S/4HANA program and business teams through the End-to-End Data Migration.
  • Provide status updates and reporting as defined by project management.
  • Work with the functional consultants and business to define the data migration scope. This includes the first cut of the target system Data Object scope and the source systems that the data currently resides in.
  • Confirm data scope for integrated systems
  • Document the S/4HANA data migration strategy
  • Work with concurrent Business project teams to ensure data strategy and requirements for S/4HANA is aligned with all relevant Business initiatives
  • Create a Data Preparation procedure that defines the processes that the business will follow in relation to Data Cleansing, Data Creation and Data Enrichment and specify the method to log and monitor associated tasks.
  • Assign business resources to all tasks. Manage, monitor and report on progress.
  • Take responsibility for the delivery of source data by the business where it is deemed not possible to extract the data automatically from the source system.
  • Create a Data Reconciliation procedure, that defines the processes that the business will follow in relation to Data Verification and Data Reconciliation in addition to technical reconciliation/record counts provided by the SI ETL team.
  • Review and approve the Data Migration strategy created by the SI and agree on Roles and Responsibilities in relation to all Data Migration activities.
  • Ensure that the required business resources participate in design, mapping and reconciliation workshops with the ETL team
  • Work with the ETL Data Lead to achieve a successful data migration and build better connections between IT and Business by improved user experience.
  • Leverage S/4 HANA technology to achieve desired outcome
  • Co-ordinate with the functional analysts and end users to troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Support and input into Program test planning and execution activities
  • Report to Project Manager as appropriate.

Essential Criteria / Mandatory Skills 

The key skills required of the S/4 HANA Data Lead are:

  • At least 2 large scale SAP project implementations.
  • At least 1 SAP S/4HANA Data Migration lead/manager role on a large scale ERP project in the last 6 years.
  • Demonstratable experience managing, supporting and leading business resources to record, perform, track and complete Data Migration tasks.
  • Demonstratable experience leading business resources to engage with the SI ETL team where required.
  • Demonstratable experience working with data migration stakeholders and SI ETL team to achieve a successful outcome.
  • Proven experience working on the client side of the data migration to ensure that all required Data Migration contractual deliverables are communicated, tracked and issues escalated to Project Management when required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex business processes and translate them into SAP solutions.
  • Ability to work with multiple priorities in delivery and project organisation
  • Excellent communications skills both verbal, written and cross cultural;
  • A collaborative approach, including effective conflict management;
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure;
  • Influencing and negotiating skills


Number of years of Experience 

  • Minimum 10 years of experience as SAP Data Lead or Data Analyst


Qualifications

  • S/4 HANA Certification
  • Tertiary Qualification in relevant discipline
