As a Virtual Medical Receptionist, you will work directly with our clients doctors(Optometry) and other medical professionals based in the USA.

We help our clients improve workflow, save time, and remove the burden of in-room documentation. An Virtual Medical Receptionist can also help with back-office and administrative tasks.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Greet patients virtually at reception desk, answer phones, schedule appointments
  • Handle incoming and outgoing emails and phone calls professionally and on time.
  • Update and maintain accurate patient records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Prepare patients for office visits
  • Collect and verify patient insurance benefits
  • Collect patient co-pays and payments
  • Communicate with patients to provide pre-operative instructions and appointment information
  • Collect necessary patient records and documentation prior to office appointments
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage the appointment calendar efficiently.
  • Manage patient follow-up care, coordinating with optometrists and scheduling necessary appointments.
  • Provide prompt responses to patient inquiries, offering medical advice within the scope of practice.
  • Enter relevant data into medical systems and update patient information as required.
  • Handle verifications of medical insurance
  • Monitor patient progress and assist in tracking and documenting treatment plans.
  • Support optometrists and other healthcare professionals, collaborating effectively with the virtual team.
  • Assist in medical billing processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to billing guidelines.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of patient information at all times
  • Work with the same client consistently, leading to the development of a long-lasting work relationship.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times

Qualifications

  • Provide proof of education or training, such as a degree or certificate in your specialized field (nursing, medical transcription, preferred worked in optometry)
  • Fluent speak and write in English. Proficient with medical (Specially optometry) terminologies and practices.
  • Must have highly proficient computer skills, including use of Electronic Medical Records
  • Have strong typing and data entry skills
  • Must have excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Able to work at night i.e 9pm-6am (9am 6pm US EST time)
  • A customer service mindset and ability to verify data accuracy.
  • Submit an NBI clearance
  • Provide a valid, government-issued photo ID (such as Drivers License, Postal ID, UMID, Passport)
  • Work from home: Have a quiet work environment and a professional, neutral background with decent lighting (examples will be provided)
  • Internet subscription/speed: At least 10mbps (DSL/Fiber only)
