Role description

Our client is embarking on a program of work that will replace the existing SAP ECC6 on-premise solution with an implementation of SAP S/4HANA functionality for the following business areas. Finance, Procurement, Asset Management, Supply Chain & Inventory Management, Expense Management, Financial Planning Budgeting and Forecasting.

The transition to AWS cloud-based SAP S/4HANA will improve a number of aspects of the way the Business functions and ultimately undertakes the day-to-day activities necessary to protect lives and property. The Improvements and benefits expected from the SAP Program are:

  • Introduction of automated workflows, reducing manual paper or email-based processes
  • Enhance team member experience, greater mobility and access to necessary applications
  • Faster invoice payments and expense reimbursements
  • Increased quality, access and timeliness of information
  • Supported, reliable and robust technology supporting scalability for future growth
  • Easier ordering and management of inventory; and
  • Improved data to inform asset maintenance and upgrade/replacement decisions


Key Deliverables

The key deliverables of the S4 HANA Developer are:

  • Take lead role in SAP (S4 HANA) Developments.
  • Work with other project teams and team members to achieve a successful end-to-end solutions.
  • Delivering solutions to business requirements while working on ABAP development including system analysis, design, coding, and documentation of Workflows, Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements and Forms (W.R.I.C.E.F)
  • Take leadership role in creation and completing technical design documents.
  • Provide support to other team members including data cleansing, extraction, transformation, loading, reconciliation, business verification.
  • Support testing focusing on design, coding, testing and quality assurance of complex product features in a development team Including tracking, resolution and reporting defects.
  • Provide status updates and feedback to project management as required.
  • Build a better connection between IT and Business by improved user experience
  • Leverage S4 HANA technology, such as BTP, to achieve desired outcomes
  • Co-ordinate with the functional consultants and business team members to troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Support and input into Program test planning and execution activities
  • Report to Project Manager as appropriate.


Essential Criteria / Mandatory Skills 

The key skills required of the S4 HANA Developer are:

  • 5 years SAP / S4 HANA development experience
  • Must have SAP ABAP developer technical development proficiency including, but not limited to, ABAP, SAP PI/PO, SAP UI5, Fiori, Netweaver, SAP Cloud Integration, and SAP Cloud Platform.
  • Involvement in at least 2 full SAP implementations as a SAP Developer consultant
  • Involvement in at least 1 full S4HANA implementation
  • Significant Developer experience in at least 2 of the following areas; Finance, EAM or PTP.
  • Have significant relevant experience working closely with the business and have the ability to engage with external partners.
  • Have significant relevant experience working closely with target system functional teams to produce data mappings, transformation rules and validation rules based on target system business rules.
  • Demonstrate previous experience and the ability to take end-to-end ownership for the successful technical developments
  • Ability to work with multiple priorities in delivery and project organization
  • Excellent communications skills both verbal, written and cross cultural;
  • A collaborative approach, including effective conflict management;
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure;
  • Influencing and negotiating skills.


Number of years of Experience 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a SAP Developer


Qualifications

  • S/4 HANA Certification
  • Tertiary Qualification in relevant discipline
