Backend & Platform Engineer (CyberSecurity)

OutPLEX is seeking 2–3 highly skilled Backend / Platform Engineers to join our core product team. These are critical roles responsible for building the high-performance "engine" that powers our security platform. You will be tasked with designing the systems that ingest, normalize, and correlate massive volumes of security data from industry leaders like Microsoft Defender and Sentinel.

Responsibilities

• Build API Connectors: Develop and maintain robust integrations with major security providers (Microsoft Defender, Entra, Sentinel).
• Design Ingestion Pipelines: Create scalable, asynchronous systems to handle the flow of incoming security logs and events.
• Data Normalization & Modeling: Build the logic layer that translates disparate data formats into a unified, consistent schema for analysis.
• Risk Scoring & Correlation: Implement complex algorithms to score security risks and correlate events across different platforms.
• Multi-Tenant Architecture: Ensure strict data isolation and security in a multi-customer environment.

Technical Skillset (Requirements)

• Programming: Strong proficiency in Python (FastAPI) or Node.js.
• API & Integrations: Deep experience working with RESTful APIs, handling rate limits, and managing complex authentication (OAuth).
• Asynchronous Processing: Expertise in building non-blocking systems using tools like asyncio, Celery, RabbitMQ, or Kafka.
• Data Modeling: Ability to design efficient database schemas and handle complex data mapping logic.
• Security Mindset: A fundamental understanding of multi-tenancy, data privacy, and secure coding practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Security Graph or Sentinel APIs.
• Knowledge of SIEM, XDR, or general Security Operations (SecOps).
• Experience with Cloud Infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and Docker.
