About the job Head Chef - Classic French Cuisine
An established and forward-thinking hospitality group is seeking an accomplished Head Chef to lead the culinary operations of one of its premier fine dining establishments in Malta. This role is ideal for a visionary chef with a strong background in classic French cuisine and experience operating at the highest levels of gastronomic excellence. The ideal candidate will be passionate about leadership, quality, and delivering an elevated guest experience in a refined and design-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the overall kitchen strategy, execution, and operations with a focus on high-end classic French cuisine.

Develop and innovate seasonal menus and tasting experiences that reflect elegance, sophistication, and tradition.

Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of chefs, cooks, and kitchen staff, fostering a culture of professionalism and excellence.

Ensure that every dish meets the restaurants standards for flavor, presentation, and consistency.

Maintain the highest food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards across all kitchen operations.

Oversee kitchen budgets, food cost controls, inventory management, and supplier relationships.

Collaborate closely with the general manager and front-of-house leadership to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction.

Represent the restaurants culinary vision both internally and externally, including guest interactions and potential media opportunities.
Requirements:

Minimum 7-10 years of professional culinary experience, with at least 3 years in a Head Chef or Executive Chef role within a fine dining or luxury hotel environment.

Strong foundation and proven excellence in classic French cuisine is required.

Degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent professional training.

Demonstrated leadership in building and managing high-performing kitchen teams.

Strong financial acumen in food costing, budgeting, and P&L management.

Exceptional organizational and communication skills.

Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.

EU passport or valid work eligibility in Malta preferred.
