Lead Full Stack Developer (Core Java) - Remote

We are looking for a skilled Lead Full Stack Developer with strong Core Java expertise to take ownership of a small but agile development team (currently three members) at a fast-growing Malta-based company operating in the iGaming and sports betting technology sector.

As the Lead Developer, you will be responsible for guiding the full software development lifecycle, designing scalable architecture, and driving the development of both front-end and back-end systems. You will also mentor and support your team while working closely with cross-functional stakeholders to build innovative, high-performance platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Hands-on development of full stack applications using Core Java and modern web technologies.

• Collaborate with product owners, designers, and QA to deliver reliable and performant systems.

• Establish coding standards and best practices, including code reviews and agile methodologies.

• Identify and resolve technical challenges to improve performance, scalability, and maintainability.

• Oversee deployment processes and ensure application security, uptime, and responsiveness.

• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional experience in software development, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

• Strong expertise in Core Java (Java 8+), Spring/Spring Boot frameworks.

• Proficiency with front-end technologies such as JavaScript, React, Angular, or Vue.js.

• Solid experience in RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).

• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

• Excellent problem-solving skills, communication abilities, and a proactive leadership style.

• Experience in or familiarity with the iGaming or sports betting industry is highly desirable.
