About the job Expert Product Owner
We currently have a vacancy for an Expert Product Owner fluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert who will be based in Brussels, Belgium. The work will be carried out either in the companys premises or on site at customer premises. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated in the Development team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major clients IT team on site.
Your tasks:
- Manage the implementation of information systems to meet identified business needs, acquiring and using the necessary resources and skills, within agreed parameters of cost, timescales, and quality;
- Create, maintain, prioritize, and sequence the product backlog based on business value or return of investment;
- Estimate costs, timescales and resource requirements for the successful completion of each project to agreed terms of reference. Lead the decision-making process related to user stories scheduling into sprints/iterations (roadmap preparation);
- Interact and validate requirements with the business/policy unit. Propose solutions by combining IT tools and business process refactoring or improvements based on an in-depth understanding of a specific business domain;
- Review deliverable and demonstrable product version/software functionalities after every sprint/iteration;
- Manage the change control procedure gaining agreement for revisions to the project from project sponsors;
- Support in transitioning from Project to Operations;
- Facilitate the acceptance of the product by the business owner;
- Develop and maintain standards for testing.
Requirements
- Masters degree in IT or relevant discipline, combined with minimum 17 years of relevant working experience in IT;
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an Expert Product Owner;
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Project Management, Agile and SharePoint;
- Minimum 5 years of specific expertise in BPMN or UML or other with equivalent value;
- Minimum 5 years of specific expertise in Wiki and collaborative tools;
- Minimum 3 years of experience in performing analysis utilizing use-case specifications or user stories;
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Functional Decomposition or Product Decomposition;
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Agile toolbox (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, BigPicture, Balsamiq, etc);
- Minimum 2 years of experience in projects making use of Data Engineering or Data Analytics;
- Minimum 1 of the following certifications are mandatory: Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO), SAFe Product Owner;
- Experience in business-to-government definitions and related IT systems would be considered an asset;
- The following certification would be considered an asset: PM2-Agile certification;
- Excellent command of the English language.
