Head Chef (Japanese Cuisine/Japanese national)

 Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Head Chef specialising in authentic Japanese cuisine to lead kitchen operations for a standalone fine-dining restaurant in Kuwait. This role requires a hands-on culinary leader with strong expertise in Japanese food, R&D, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and consistency

  • Develop and execute authentic Japanese menus, including fine-dining concepts

  • Oversee R&D, menu innovation, and seasonal offerings

  • Manage kitchen team performance, training, and daily operations

  • Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and quality standards

Requirements

  • Japanese national (mandatory)

  • Proven experience working as a Head Chef

  • Strong background in Japanese fine-dining cuisine

  • Experience in standalone restaurants with involvement in both R&D and operations

  • Previous GCC experience is required

  • Restaurant-only background (no hotel experience)
