We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a high-end hospitality operation in St. Julian's, and they are looking for a Sushi Chef to join their culinary team and deliver outstanding Japanese cuisine with precision, creativity, and consistency.

The Mission

As Sushi Chef, you will prepare high quality sushi and Japanese inspired dishes while maintaining the highest standards in presentation, freshness, and food safety.

What You Will Do

  • Prepare sushi, sashimi, rolls, and Japanese dishes to a consistently high standard
  • Ensure freshness, correct storage, and top quality of all ingredients
  • Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control
  • Follow all hygiene and food safety procedures
  • Support menu preparation and daily mise en place
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and inventory control
  • Keep your workstation clean, organised, and service ready
  • Work closely with the wider kitchen team to ensure smooth service
  • Support and guide junior kitchen staff when required

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role
  • Strong knife skills and knowledge of Japanese ingredients and techniques
  • High attention to detail and passion for food quality
  • Solid understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced kitchen
  • Team focused attitude with good communication skills
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
