The Operations Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day logistics operations by tracking shipments, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining accurate system records. This role focuses on proactive communication, operational accuracy, and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced logistics environment.
The primary objective of this role is to take ownership of daily operational tasks so leadership can focus on business growth.

Objectives of this role:
Ensure timely and accurate shipment coordination from pickup to final delivery
Maintain seamless and proactive communication between customers, carriers, and internal teams
Support daily logistics operations through strong organization, tracking, and documentation
Operate independently while managing assigned workloads with minimal supervision
Responsibilities:
Track and monitor shipments from pickup through final delivery
Perform track-and-trace activities and proactively update customers on shipment status or delays
Build, manage, and update shipment orders within the system
Dispatch loads to assigned carriers and coordinate pickups and deliveries
Communicate with carriers and drivers regarding schedules, ETAs, and operational updates
Prepare, review, and verify shipping and operational documents for accuracy and completeness
Troubleshoot routine operational issues and escalate complex concerns when necessary
Maintain accurate records and ensure all systems are consistently updated
Provide customer service support related to shipment inquiries
Support additional operational and administrative tasks as required
Required skills and qualifications:
Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word)
Comfortable using logistics, tracking, or operational software

Must have a Windows-based computer (required for system access)
Preferred skills and qualifications
Prior experience in logistics, transportation, or operations coordination
Familiarity with shipment tracking systems or Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
Experience working directly with carriers, drivers, or operational documentation
Freight brokerage experience (U.S./Canada) is a strong advantage
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
