About the Role
We are seeking a capable and hands-on IT Manager Support professional to support day-to-day IT operations across systems, users, and infrastructure for an Australian business.
Working closely with the IT Manager, you will help keep Microsoft environments, servers, networks, and end-user systems running smoothly, securely, and efficiently.
This role suits someone who can troubleshoot quickly, communicate clearly, and take ownership of issues from resolution through to prevention.
Key Responsibilities
Microsoft Environment (Core Focus)
- Administer and support Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and security policies through Azure AD / Entra ID
- Support email setup, migrations, troubleshooting, and spam/security controls
Systems & Server Support
- Monitor and maintain Windows Servers (on-premise and/or cloud)
- Assist with backups, patching, updates, and system performance
- Support virtual environments such as Hyper-V or VMware
Network Management
- Monitor and maintain LAN/WAN, routers, firewalls, and switches
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues and outages
- Support VPN access and remote user connectivity
Helpdesk & User Support
- Provide Level 1–2 support across hardware, software, and access issues
- Resolve support tickets efficiently and escalate when required
- Support onboarding/offboarding including device setup, email, and system access
Security & Compliance
- Support endpoint security, antivirus, and monitoring tools
- Maintain access controls, MFA, and security policies
- Assist with backups, recovery processes, and data protection practices
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain IT documentation, user guides, and support processes
- Track recurring issues and resolutions
- Assist in reporting system performance and risks
Requirements
- 3–5+ years experience in IT support / systems administration
- Strong experience with Microsoft 365 and Exchange environments
- Solid understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory / Azure AD
- Experience with network troubleshooting (routers, firewalls, VPNs)
- Ability to diagnose and resolve issues independently
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical users

- Documentation and support processes are kept up to date
Preferred
- Experience with Azure or AWS
- Exposure to cybersecurity tools and best practices
- Experience with backup systems and disaster recovery
- IT certifications (Microsoft, CompTIA, or similar)
