Job Description:
This is a 3 month contract role. Hybrid(Sandton)
To enable GIAs Strategy, a new operating model has been finalized. As part of this model, a specific Executive role has been established to oversee CIB and the African regions. This role is currently vacant and under recruitment. In the interim, a senior resource is required to manage the team and deliverables, while also enhancing assurance and insights through strategic input and industry best practices.
The interim resource will, among other responsibilities, be expected to:

Oversee and manage the CIB and African regions portfolio, including the associated teams and senior stakeholder relationships.

Provide strategic oversight to the Chief Internal Auditors (CIAs) of the African regions, who will remain responsible for the operational running of the subsidiary audit functions.

Ensure that the audit plan for the remainder of 2025 adequately discharges GIAs mandate and responsibilities.

Oversee, manage, and review audits on the plan, ensuring the incorporation of strategic insights and best practices throughout the audit lifecycle (planning, fieldwork, and reporting).

Prepare and review Cluster, Group, and Board reports as needed for CIA sign-off.
Audits on the plan include coverage of Markets, Investment Banking, and Regulatory Reviews (SAMOS & JIBAR).
A seasoned Executive with at least 10 years of relevant experience is required, possessing the following:

Specialist or SME-level expertise in CIB, including Markets, Investment Banking, Property Finance, and Transactional Services.

Strong knowledge of the banking industry, particularly in environments experiencing rapid change and innovation.

Proven ability to engage effectively with Executives and Senior stakeholders.

Extensive experience in Audit and Board reporting, with the ability to elevate outcomes through a strategic and industry-focused lens.

Demonstrated capability in leading and managing diverse teams, with full line management responsibilities.
