We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support and maintain the customers network infrastructure in Penang, with a strong focus on Cisco switches, Palo Alto firewalls, and coordination with the Taiwan HQ team.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and support Cisco switches.

  • Manage and maintain Palo Alto firewalls.

  • Perform configuration, tuning, and upgrades on network devices.

  • Monitor network performance to ensure stability and high availability.

  • Coordinate with Taiwan HQ for configuration adjustments, changes, and escalations.

  • Document network configurations, changes, and incident resolutions.

  • Provide onsite support in line with the customers working hours.

Requirements

Must-have:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar network-focused role.

  • Hands-on experience with Cisco switch troubleshooting and maintenance.

  • Hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewall troubleshooting and maintenance.

  • Able to take over responsibilities immediately with minimal training.

  • Good communication skills in English and Chinese (Mandarin) for coordination with Taiwan HQ.

  • Willing and able to work onsite in Penang, following customer working hours.

  • Independent, proactive, and able to handle issues with minimal supervision.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience in an enterprise networking or managed services environment.

  • Knowledge of routing protocols (e.g. OSPF, BGP).

  • Familiarity with VPNs, VLANs, and network security best practices.

  • Exposure to network monitoring tools and ticketing systems.

  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA/CCNP or Palo Alto Networks certifications.
