Role Mission
Our Rescue is growing quickly and we need someone to make our tech stack work seamlessly, so we can focus on the important work of saving dogs. We use Neon One as our primary CRM and donor database. We need rock-solid, monitored data flows from Baserow and Petsablished to Neon One. This can be a one time project based role, or if you are really cool, you'll stick around and help us streamline even more platforms. This role is high-visbility; clean, reliable data is the backbone of our fundraising and animal care. Your work wont stay hidden in the background; it directly affects daily operations. This role matters a lot and people will know who you are.
What Winning Looks Like
Petstablished Neon One (dogs, adopters, donations) constituents, relationships, custom objects/fields)
Baserow Neon One (fosters, all program data, volunteer hours, event sign-ups, grant tracking tables Neon households/constituents, custom objects, activities)
Neon Onemake sure data is not overwritten, workflow suggestions/creation, preventing duplicate records, cleaning up muddled accounts, CSV template creation for manual uploads
Youll own:
Real-time or near-real-time sync wherever possible (webhooks)
Field mapping, transformations, and lookup logic (especially Baserow formula fields Neon custom fields)
Deduplication and merge rules across all sources
Relationship mapping (e.g. Petstablished fosters Neon constituents)
Error monitoring, alerting, and rapid break-fix
Documentation and training for non-technical staff when mappings change
Needed Skills
API & webhook fluency. Neon One, Petstablished, and Baserow all have decent but quirky REST APIs + webhooks. WordPress plugins fire webhooks unpredictably. You must be able to read API docs fast and troubleshoot 4xx/5xx errors in minutes.
Data mapping & nonprofit/animal-welfare domain knowledge is a plus or least willing to learn.
Extreme attention to detail + deductive troubleshooting. One wrong field mapping can duplicate 800 constituents or lose $50k in donations. When a sync breaks at 2 a.m., you have to figure out if it was a WordPress plugin update, Baserow formula change, or Neon API maintenance window.
Communication with non-technical staff. Youre going to be the smartest guy in the room when it comes to this stuff. You need to translate we need the dogs microchip number in Neon into technical requirements without frustrating either of us. We want you to have the heart of a teacher.
Ownership & monitoring mindset. If you prefer to treat this as a one time project and walk away, we will take what we can get. But if you are wanting to stay longer, we want you to own this role: set up Datadog/Sentry monitors, jump on breaks immediately, and document root causes. We dont have time to babysit and give daily tasks. You need to be a self motivated person.
Unique Company Culture and Mission
Our Mission
At Path of Hope Rescue we save pregnant dogs and puppies from high kill shelters in the Southern United States.
Our Spokane, Washington based Rescue strives to decrease the euthanasia rate of high risk dogs in the southern United States by transporting pregnant dogs and puppies to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive homes. We do not have a kennel or building location and are 100% foster based. We currently have two paid employees and rely heavily on volunteers and fosters as we work to build out our paid staff roles.
Our Vision.
Eliminating euthanasia of dogs in the South by decreasing the amount of dogs breeding unchecked and becoming the number one dog destination in Spokane by capitalizing on Spokanes love of Rescue Dogs.
Core Values:
Transparency - sharing the good with the bad
Community - dog loving people who treat each other well
Integrity - doing what you say will do
Golden Rule - treating others how you would want to be treated
Our Company Culture
We are freedom loving American Patriots who love dogs, freedom and God.
No NGO status here, we dont take a single penny from the government. We are 100% funded by small donors and our adoption program, with a few small private grants here and there. We built this organization from the ground up in 2018 with $87.
We are built tough and believe that hard work pays off. Were about rolling up our sleeves and taking responsibility for our own actions. We dont do drama. There are no victims here and the system isnt out to get you, the only thing standing in your way is you and your attitude. We reward merit, not DEI or pronouns. We dont bend to the cultural rot out there.
At the core of who we are, we love dogs. At PHR you will find people who recognize your dog before they recognize you. Where its normal for your dog to have his own Instagram and people who expect to be invited to your dogs birthday party. We are focused on building a strong, positive community, one dog and one person at a time.
We know dogs are family and should be treated that way. And we are driven by a shared passion to make sure every dog who isnt being loved, finds their way to a family. We care for each other and have created a community of people who love making a difference in this world.
