PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT
As an experienced Acquiring & Payment Gateway - IT Specialist, you will manage and support acquiring systems, merchant platforms, and data host migration projects. The role requires strong understanding of payments, merchant onboarding, and coordination with internal and external partners and expert in implementing technical solutions.
Core Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Manage and support acquiring systems and payment gateway operations from technical side.
- Lead data host migration projects end-to-end (planning, execution, validation).
- Support merchant onboarding, integration, and daily operational issues.
- Coordinate with processors, banks, PSPs, and vendors for system updates and enhancements.
- Oversee testing (SIT/UAT), deployments, and post-launch support.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and card scheme requirements.
- Prepare and maintain clear documentation and reports.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Previous experience in working with acquiring, payment gateways, and merchant platforms, including an understanding of transaction flows, operational processes, and industry best practices.
- Strong background in data migration and system transitions, with the ability to manage end-to-end migration activities, ensure data integrity, and support seamless platform cutovers.
- Demonstrated problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills, with the ability to address technical and operational issues efficiently and clearly.
- Proven capability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners, ensuring alignment, smooth execution, and timely delivery of project objectives.
Mandatory Skills:
- Bachelors degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, with a solid technical foundation to support system integration and platform management activities.
- Previous experience within Banking, Payment & Card solutions, or the FinTech industry.
- Regional experience across the GCC, including working in a faced-paced matrix organisation.
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) in English; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.
Preferred Skills:
- The ability to analyse data, troubleshoot payment issues, optimize processes, and make data-driven decisions.
- An understanding of payment systems, digital platforms, APIs, system workflows, security basics, and industry technologies.
- An understanding of regional regulations across financial services or payment networks.
