JOB TITLE: Cards Portfolio Manager

TERM: 12 months (with potential extension) 

CLIENT LOCATION: Karachi, Pakistan (on-site)

DIVISION: Retail Banking / Cards & Payments 

REPORTS TO: Head of Cards & Payments, with dotted-line reporting to MA Advisors Program Lead

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: 

  • 5 Years + Cards Portfolio Management in Pakistan
  • Activation and Spend growth on Cards

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS**:

  • Cards Cross-border payments, e- commerce, and merchant partnerships
  • Campaign execution, customer segmentation, and performance analytics
  • Islamic Banking Experience


PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT

Strategic advisory and execution support for cross-border spend growth and portfolio optimization initiatives at Meezan Bank. To drive growth in cross-border and e-commerce spend through strategic planning, campaign execution, and portfolio optimizationleveraging non-cash funds and global merchant partnerships.


Key Activities

Core Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Design and implement an Always-On campaign targeting cross-border and e-comm spend.
  • Coordinate with global merchants (e.g., Emirates, Amazon, Airbnb) to align offers and promotions.
  • Support the planning and execution of XB spend campaigns and award distribution events.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to scope high-impact customer campaigns.
  • Monitor fund utilization across Year 1 and Year 2 allocations.
  • Develop and execute data-driven marketing strategies to increase cardholder engagement.
  • Optimize portfolio performance through segmentation, targeting, and offer personalization.
  • Provide execution support for campaign rollout, tracking, and reporting.
  • Liaise with Advisors and internal stakeholders to align on campaign objectives and KPIs.
  • Ensure compliance with internal approvals and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring card issuance / CIF growth as per targets commitments


KPIs

  • % increase in cross-border and e-comm spend
  • Card issuance / CIF growth as aligned to the agreed targets
  • Campaign ROI and fund utilization rate
  • Customer engagement and activation metrics
  • Portfolio growth and retention rates
  • Timely execution of planned initiatives


Knowledge and Experience

  • 7+ years in banking, payments, or consulting with a focus on portfolio optimization, digital engagement, or cross-border spend strategies.
  • Proven track record in campaign execution, customer segmentation, and performance analytics.
  • Experience working with Islamic banking products is a plus.


Mandatory Skills**

  • Prior experience in managing or advising cardholder engagement campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of cross-border payments, e-commerce trends, and merchant partnerships.
  • Ability to work on-site in Karachi and collaborate with regional and global stakeholders.
