About the job CST - Surg OR Tech II
The CST - Operating Room Tech II, under the direct supervision of a registered professional nurse, provides direct and indirect perioperative patient care for patients requiring surgical intervention, in a minimum of three OR specialty areas (Vascular, Neuro, Ortho, ENT, Cardio/Thoracic) one of which must be Neuro or Cardio, with cases/patients of high acuity. The Operating Room Tech II assumes call rotation responsibility for all procedures excluding those considered within the scope of the open-heart team call responsibilities unless trained in the cardio/thoracic specialty.
Job Responsibilities

Education:
- Completion of a Surgical Technician Certificate program REQUIRED
License/Certifications:
- BLS certification
- CST Certification
Experience
- Minimum one year OR experience in a scrub role
- Requires successful completion of an operating room technician course.
- MUST have CURRENT ACUTE care experience
Additional Information

- Reports to the Manager- Director
- Must wear hospital provided protective barrier attire while on duty
- 30 minutes response time for calls as they do not have a call room
- 8,10,12 hr shifts
- Rotate calls
- Take calls only if the tech is on case
- Skills from other units that they feel will prepare the candidate for their unit: Previous surgical experience in a hospital setting (general, bariatric, neuro, ortho, GYN, ENT, vascular, cardio/thoracic).
