They are currently searching for a professional, compassionate and knowledgeable individual to fill the position of Endovascular Technologist in our Cardiology Division. The Endovascular Technologist will assist the physician with multiple different procedures in the lab and participate in the performance improvement and continuous quality (CQI) improvement activities of the Endovascular Lab.

Responsibilities:

  • Interacts professionally with patient and family; treats patients and families with respect and dignity

  • Provides patient/family education pre and post procedure

  • Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors

  • Demonstrates the ability to handle emergency situations during high-risk procedures

  • Demonstrates the ability to work as team member, assists physicians with the interpretation of data collected

  • Sets up and performs technical imaging procedures necessary to apply prescribed ionizing radiation to all venous, arterial, cardiology studies

  • Assists the physician in diagnostic evaluation and treatment

  • Demonstrate proficiency in scrubbing, sterile prepping, sterile draping and sterile technique and knowledge of appropriate prep protocol for all devices used (balloons, stents, atherectomy/protection/aspiration devices, temp pacer, etc.)

  • Manage groin complications(hematomas, sheath pulls, sheath exchanges, bleeds)

  • Enters technical factors determined by protocol such as amount and quality of radiation beam, and specified filming sequence, into computer

  • Accurately chart all equipment/medications that enter the patient’s body, all implanted devices used, as well as the monitor and chart the patients LOC and any pertinent status changes throughout the entire case

  • Responsible for the care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and use of equipment to minimize hazards of electric shock, burns and extraneous radiation to patients

  • Raises and lowers examining table and manipulates and positions x-ray tube in response to instructions from Physician

  • Activates fluoroscope and camera (cinefluorography) to produce images that assist Physician in guiding catheter through vascular system of patient

  • Observes gauges, recorder, and video screens of multi-channel data analysis system that indicates blood pressure, cardiac output, and respiration, during imaging of cardiovascular system

  • Assists Physician in interventional procedures, such as instilling enzymes or inserting balloon in blood vessels to remove plaque or other blockage

  • Maintains and calibrates all equipment and PAR levels for supplies; cleans and disinfects equipment per policy and procedure, ensures procedure rooms are stocked

  • Assists in maintaining basic records, reports and files

Requirements:

  • Ability to travel to Avondale, Phoenix, and Paradise Valley clinics

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, as well as a caring nature. Ability to interact with people from different backgrounds and cultures

  • Requires the ability to manage multiple changing priorities in an effective and organized fashion

  • Must have knowledge of and follow HIPAA guidelines and secure Protected Health Information at all times

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an Endovascular lab

  • Graduate of an accredited ARRT training program

  • Current Arizona license as a Registered Radiologist Technologist in the State of Arizona.

  • Current BCLS and ACLS certifications
