The Nursing Director (Commissioning) is a critical leadership role responsible for building the nursing department from the ground up. You will oversee the strategic planning, recruitment, and clinical operational readiness of all nursing services to ensure the hospital opens with international standards of patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities

1. Clinical Operational Readiness

  • Develop and implement comprehensive Nursing Policies, Procedures, and SOPs in alignment with Egyptian Ministry of Health and international accreditation standards (e.g., JCI).
  • Define the nursing scope of service for each clinical department (ER, ICU, OR, Inpatient, etc.).
  • Design and oversee the Nursing Quality & Patient Safety framework.

2. Recruitment & Workforce Planning

  • Develop the Nursing Manpower Plan and budget based on projected bed occupancy.
  • Lead the international and local recruitment of Head Nurses, Staff Nurses, and Midwives.
  • Establish credentialing and privileging processes for all nursing staff.

3. Training & Education

  • Design a mandatory Orientation & Onboarding program for new hires.
  • Set up the Nursing Competency Assessment framework and ongoing Continuous Medical Education (CME) programs.
  • Train staff on the Hospital Information System (HIS) and medical equipment specific to their units.

4. Equipment & Facility Commissioning

  • Collaborate with the Bio-medical and Procurement teams to select and validate nursing-related medical equipment and consumables.
  • Supervise the physical setup of nursing stations and medication rooms to ensure optimal workflow.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); Masters degree in Nursing Leadership or Healthcare Management is highly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10–12 years in nursing, with at least 5 years in a senior management role. Direct experience in hospital commissioning is a significant advantage.
  • Licensure: Must be eligible for registration with the Egyptian Nursing Syndicate.
  • Skills: Fluent in English (Arabic is a strong advantage for local staff management).
  • Strong knowledge of JCI accreditation standards.
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale budgets and diverse teams.
